A lesson in Wandlore

Hello All,


     You brought this on yourself guys. I'm about to let loose on my Harry potter fanatic-ness, and if you want to blame someone, blame Kripa and George and every other ignorant Muggle I've had to put up with.


     Let's start with Thestrals. More importantly, Thestral hair, and their uses in wands. When Kripa 'gifted' this wand, also apparently 100 inches, she didn't realise that Thestral hair is an unstable material to use in wands. There is only one known use of Thestral hair in wands, and that is the Elder Wand itself. The wand from the Deathly Hallows. Does anybody realise the significance of it? The wand is extremely unlucky, but then again, that may be because it was made by Death.


     Wands with Therstral hair in them would, unlike other wands, be very dispassionate. So this wand cannot choose an owner, and can exchange owners without a thought. That's one of the bigger reasons it's never used.


    Also, Kripa, stop kidding yourself. 100 inches? No wandmaker would ever make a wand that long, because it completely defeats the purpose of a wand in the first place. That, and it's a very arduous task. Wands are used to cast spells, and with a wand that long, I'd like to see you try and do and proper wand movements.


     You may not have known this, but the wands that choose you don't just choose you out of the blue. They have a connection with you that is founded in the way they are made, what they are made of and how they are treated. Let's ignore that a Willow and Thestral hair wand would never work, let alone the fact that nobody would be stupid enough to make one. George's ideal wand would be made of Ivy. This is according to the Celtic calendar, that also links Harry's, Hermione's, Ron's, Draco's and possibly others with their wands.


     I have so much more to say, but I have to go. I hope you learnt a valuable lesson from my ranting about wandlore. I would continue, but I have to go and reapply the Disillusionment Charm I've applied on my Thestral. Stupid Ministry told me I have to... it's not like any Muggles are going to jump over my fence into my backyard, are they?


     On a non-HP related note, in exactly 3 hours, it will be 10:10 10/10/10. How exciting!

heh.. oops: Friday 8th

I walked into the guys changeroom today.

It's ok. I didn't SEE anything. In fact it went so undramatically, I didn't even feel shocked for some reason. Its like I sort of thought I was walking in the wrong place but I was thinking "nah i always think that and when I walk back and check the sign I look stupid," shortly followed by "Oop. Guy. in his Speedos." Turn around. Walk right into my brother. Oop. Say relatively casually, more amusedish, "I walked into the guys changeroom." He tells me he saw me walk in. I thank him. And leave like nothing happened.

No one really noticed. The trick is to look like you know what your doing and get out of there. Fast.

It got more exciting afterwards when I realised what I just did.
